With huge potential quality-of-life benefits for all, bioadhesives are the focus of major research efforts around the world. Progress in this field requires a multidisciplinary approach, where scientists (chemists, physicists, mathematicians, biologists and medical doctors), interact with engineers, materials producers and manufacturers. In this paper, published in the Belstein Journal of Nanotechnology, we review the state of the art of “Molecular Biology Tools Applied to Bioadhesion Research”. The methodological strategy presented in the paper is the same as proposed in the HydraGlue project. The article is open access, enjoy!
